LVD certification

Release time:2021-11-18 11:28viewed:times
LVD is the abbreviation of Low Voltage Directive, which is called Low Voltage Directive. Its specified range is electrical equipment with AC voltage between 50 volts and 1000 volts and DC voltage between 75 volts and 1500 volts.

This directive contains all safety rules for equipment, including protection against dangers caused by mechanical reasons. The design and structure of the equipment should ensure that there will be no hazards when used under normal working conditions and fault conditions according to its intended use, especially the following hazards are evaluated:

Electric Shock
Energy hazard
Fire
Mechanic and heat hazard
Radiation hazard
Chemical Hazard

LVD certified product range

Switching power supplies, LED lamps, electronic and electrical equipment, audio and video products, information technology products, commercial office automation equipment not exceeding 600V, etc., power products, servers, monitors, TV household appliances, laptops, personal computers And computer peripheral products, etc. all use this standard.

LVD certification standards

LVD low voltage harmonized standard: EN 60335-2-9:2003 + A1:2004 + A2:2006 + A12:2007 + A13:2010 harmonized standard application scope: ovens, grills and toasters and other similar portable cooking appliances;
The Low Voltage Directive (LVD) standard EN 62368-1: 2014 will be postponed from June 20, 2019 to December 20, 2020 for mandatory implementation;
Before 2020-12-20, the selection criteria for ITE/AV product certification are still EN60950-1/EN 60065, EN 62368-1 second edition, and EN 62368-1 third edition.

Home appliance product certification standard (EN60335), lighting product certification standard (EN60598), audio-visual product certification standard (EN60065), information product certification standard (EN60950), electrical machinery certification standard (EN60204), measuring instrument certification standard (EN61010).

Sample requirements

Prepare 2-4 samples/complete models for the main test (series test);
If it is necessary to use special tools for assembly, special tools should be provided with it;
If the product needs to work normally under a special load, samples should be sent together with the load so that the product can work normally;
For products that require accessories (controllers, connecting cables, software, etc.) to work properly, they should be connected so that the product can work normally;
For products that require a charger, a charger needs to be provided (the charger needs to be marked on the product without testing);
For products with potting requirements such as transformers, potted (SEALED) and unencapsulated (UNSEALED) samples must be provided separately;
According to the requirements of the testing laboratory, provide some important parts or unassembled parts, such as: thermal link (thermal link), rheostat or resistance, circuit breaker.

Technical data requirements

The CE system of LVD is similar to the EMC directive. All products within the scope of application must have the CE mark, and must have a declaration of conformity signed by the manufacturer's representative or importer.
A simple self-declaration is not enough to ensure that the product is safe ("safety" is defined as not causing deaths, injuries, and financial damage to personnel or livestock). For this reason, LVD's declaration needs to be supported by technical documentation.

The technical certification documents must include:

1. Sufficient risk analysis and assessment;
2. General description of electrical products;
3. Design concept and manufacturing drawings, as well as details of parts and assemblies, etc.;
4. The necessary description and explanation required to understand the corresponding drawings and details and the work of electrical products;
5. A list of harmonized standards, or international standards, or national standards that are used in whole or in part, and a description of the solutions adopted to meet the safety objectives of the directive without the use of harmonized standards or international standards or national standards, Include a list of other relevant technical specifications applied. If harmonized standards or international standards or national standards are partly applied, the applied part shall be specified in the technical file;
6. Design calculations and inspection results, etc.;
7. Test report.
