Japan's PSE product METI is registered
PSE certification is a Japanese compulsory safety certification to prove that electrical and electronic products have passed the safety standard test of the Japanese Electrical and Material Safety Law (DENAN Law) or the international IEC standard. Japan’s DENTORL Law (Electrical Device and Material Control Law) stipulates that 498 products must pass PSE safety certification to enter the Japanese market. Among them, 165 types of A products should obtain the diamond-shaped PSE mark, and 333 types of B products should obtain the round PSE mark. The regulations require Japanese purchasers to register and declare to Japan METI within one month after purchasing the goods, and must mark the purchaser's name or ID on the product for supervision and management in the future product sales process.
Japan METI filing process
1. Notification of business, understood to be a declaration by the Japanese importer, including manufacturer information, product information and signing date
2. The approval certificate issued by the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry of Japan, the importer can only issue this approval certificate with the PSE secondary certificate to METI for filing.
3. Japanese purchasers must register with the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry (METI) within one month after purchasing the goods. They must have a Japanese trading company registered in Japan before they can apply for registration with METI.
How to apply for Japanese METI filing
METI filing is divided into two types
1. Qualified as an importer
2. No importer qualification
Documents to be submitted and valid period for METI filing of NEC products

2. Cycle: 1-2 weeks.
3. The validity period of the certificate after filing is 3 years.
