ETL certification

ETL is the abbreviation of Electrical Testing Laboratories, founded by Thomas Edison in 1896, and is an NRTL (Nationally Recognized Laboratory) accredited by OSHA (Federal Occupational Safety and Health Administration). After more than 100 years, the ETL mark has been widely recognized and accepted by major retailers in North America, and enjoys a high reputation like UL. ETL inspection mark Any electrical, mechanical or electromechanical product with an ETL inspection mark indicates that it has been tested and complies with relevant industry standards.
 
As long as any electronic, mechanical or electrical product carries the ETL mark, it indicates that the product has reached the generally recognized minimum product safety standards in the United States or Canada, and it also represents that the manufacturer agrees to receive strict periodic inspections to ensure product quality consistency , Can enter the North American market smoothly. Now, the ETL mark has developed into the most dynamic product safety certification mark in North America. The "US" in the lower right indicates that it is applicable to the United States, the "C" in the lower left indicates that it is applicable to Canada, and both the "US" and "C" are applicable to both the United States and Canada.
 
The ETL mark also indicates that the manufacturer's production site meets a certain range of standard requirements, and the factory inspection is followed up regularly to ensure continuous consistency. ETL has been around for more than 100 years. The three letters of ETL are the abbreviation of Electrical Testing Labs (Electrical Testing Labs) founded by inventor Mr. Edison in 1896. ETL stands for innovative, influential, independent and open product testing and rich experience.
 
The product safety testing provided by ETL covers a variety of products, fields, and markets. The certified products are very extensive, including electrical, mechanical products, and electronic products. The common ones are as follows:
 
1. Electric tools; 2. Household appliances; 3. Communication products; 4. IT products; 5. Lamps and switches; 6. Apparatus and equipment; 7. Electronic components; 8. Other products, etc.
 
ETL certification basic test method
 
1). Leakage current test: The sample used for leakage current test has not been tested before other tests;
2). Normal temperature rise: Test method: Thermocouple: The standard requires the use of 24-30AWG thermocouple, (30AWG currently used in the laboratory);
3). Leakage current test after tidal state: general test conditions: T= 32+/-2°C, RH= 88 ±2%. Duration: 48 hours after completion, take it out for leakage current test test conditions T=20~30 °C, RH=93+/-3%;
4) Withstand voltage test: Generally, products that do not require double insulation and grounding products: 1000 V / 1 minute (the target voltage climb time of the device is set to 5 seconds, the cut-off current is set to 8.3 mA, and then kept at the target voltage for 1 minute);
 
At present, there are two ways for power supply to obtain ETL certificate, one is to transfer the CB test report, and the other is to apply directly. The required materials are as follows:
 
1. Application Form
2. Copy of CB test certificate (not required for direct application)
3. Copy of CB test report (not required for direct application)
4. Samples (4-8 pieces)
5. Other relevant test results and product data, such as product descriptions, photos, component lists, product performance and specifications, circuit schematics, etc.
 
Information required for power ETL certification:
 
1. Circuit diagram (please note that the parameters of the device must be consistent with the nameplate and manual)
2. Printed circuit layout and parts location diagram A. Products with electronic circuits must be provided. B If electronic switches, dimmers and other electronic components have been certified, this option may not be provided.
3. English manual (the manual must have the manufacturer's name or trademark, model, parameters, installation method and necessary safety warnings)
4. Description of model differences (if there are multiple models in the same series, the similarities and differences between the models must be clearly listed. The statement must be signed.)
5. Product installation structure drawing/exploded drawing (please specify the part number and name of the part.) 6 List of key parts (the list must be signed) A format is as follows and corresponding to the code in the exploded drawing, each zero is listed in sequence part
